Dr. Sheehan has worked with people who have developmental disabilities for over 30 years. He has provided consultation and training in the areas of job placement, support systems, staff training and curriculum development.
Marty integrates a background in research psychology, direct instruction, special education and media development. He has worked as the principal investigator for numerous grants on such topics as career education for teens with disabilities, independent living, and direct support staff training on the issues of leisure and fitness and the life history album for people who have developmental disabilities.
Dr. Sheehan has served on numerous Center for Scientific Review study groups for the National Institutes of Health, most recently on the Bio Behavioral and Social Science Review Group in the area of Risk, Prevention and Health Behavior. He also works part-time at the Direction Service Counseling Center where he specializes in clients with mental retardation, autism, attention deficit disorder, and individuals with anger management problems.
